Black Lives Black Words Showcase
New Plays Needed:
for Black Lives Black Words Showcase: An evening of 10- minute plays written for digital production. Presented by Coalescence Theatre Project in conjunction with Black Lives Black Words International Project.
Coalescence Theatre Project is proud to be partnering with Black Lives Black Words International Project in presenting Coalescence Theatre’s Black Lives Black Words Showcase. We will be accepting submissions of 10-minute plays written by Black playwrights nationally for virtual live-streamed performance around the question, do Black lives really matter?
The company, based in Bloomington-Normal, IL, will select six of these 10-minute plays, in conjunction with Reginald Edmund, to be presented in digital performance open to the public on October 22nd, 23rd, and 24th, 2021, along with discussions about the works.
Details:
All submissions made by August 1, 2021 will be given full consideration. Submit plays to coalescencetheatre@gmail.com.
Please include your name, pronouns, and best contact information on your script, as well as in the email. Selections are made based on merit and in consideration of forming six plays that, together, bring notable focus or useful contrast within the series. This project will be entirely produced by Black talent under the lead of Coalescence Theatre’s BLBW Showcase Curator, Katharyn D. Brown. Thank you for sharing your work for consideration.
